YFest Urban Games weekend fast approaching!

Join Chelmsford YMCA for a fun three days in Central Park

Chelmsford YMCA has been running their summer youth festival ‘YFest' for over 10 years, but this year for the first time YFest has joined up with Chelmsford City Council and the SX Urban Games to create a YMCA Urban Games weekend.

This amazing event will be taking place on the 27th, 28th and 29th of July and will be based around the skateboard ramps and new Adizone Multiuse Games Area in Central Park. Each day has a main theme, and will start at 12 noon with more activities happening around the main event. Activities will include a ‘Battle of the Bands' competition, a showcase of young talent, and a variety of workshops focusing on free-running, Capoeira, dance and lots more. There is no entrance fee, so come along and join in the fun! For up to date information about the event, check out the Facebook pages for ‘Urban Games' or ‘YMCA Urban Games Weekend', as there will be regular updates from the team.

Craig Gough, Youth Projects Manager, said "This is a great partnership and community event where young people can get involved, have fun, and show the positive impact they can have on their community."

Antony Bensley, Senior Sports Development Officer from Chelmsford City Council, said "The event will provide a fantastic range of activities, performances and workshops for young people linked to community organisations."

If you would like to get involved as a volunteer or a performer, please speak to Craig Gough at the YMCA on 01245 355677 or email
